Board Names Dr. Renee Lama Permanent Assistant Superintendent of Ed Services

Dec. 20, 2023

The San Lorenzo Unified School District Board of Education voted Dec. 19 to make permanent the prior interim appointment of Renee Lama last June as assistant superintendent for educational services.

Their unanimous vote means Lama will continue to serve in the executive cabinet of Superintendent Dr. Daryl Camp, leading all aspects of SLZUSD’s educational programs. The position was previously held by Tracie Noriega, who in July became senior director of equity and inclusion for the Association of California School Administrators.

Lama, entering her fifth year as a senior administrator in San Lorenzo, joined the district in 2019 as director of secondary education. She previously served the West Contra Costa Unified School District as a high school assistant principal, middle school principal and director of curriculum and instruction, part of a nearly 27-year career in education.

“Thank you for your confidence in Ms. Lama and our staff for providing leadership in this district,” Dr. Camp told the board.
